This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and browser storage used on the AeroTech Academy platform. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. Summary

We do not use analytics cookies, advertising or tracking cookies, or any third-party marketing tags. The only storage we use is first-party and strictly necessary to operate the platform: keeping you signed in, enforcing the device limits attached to your licence, and remembering your language and interface preferences.

Because we do not use any non-essential cookies, we do not show a cookie consent banner and there is no in-app cookie-settings page. This reflects the platform as it actually operates, not a general policy against consent — see section 3.

When you complete a purchase, our payment provider, Paddle, may set its own cookies inside its checkout window. This is addressed in section 4.

2. What we use and why

2.1 Storage used by the platform

2.2 What we do not use

We do not use analytics cookies, advertising or retargeting cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, social media tags, or any third-party marketing or profiling technology. There is no cookie consent-management platform because there is nothing non-essential to manage consent for.

3. Why no consent banner is required

3.1 Under the ePrivacy Directive (as implemented across the EU/EEA) and the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), consent is required before storing or accessing information on a user's device unless the storage is "strictly necessary" to provide a service the user has explicitly requested.

3.2 Every item of storage listed in section 2.1 is strictly necessary in this sense: without the authentication token you cannot stay signed in, without the device identifier we cannot enforce the licence terms you agreed to, and the language preference exists solely to deliver the interface you already selected. None of it is used for analytics, advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the service you asked for.

3.3 Because no non-essential storage is used, no consent banner is required and none is shown.

3.4 If this changes: if we ever introduce analytics, advertising, or any other non-essential cookie or similar technology, we will update this Policy first and obtain your consent before any such cookie is set, and we will provide a way to manage that choice at that time.

4. Paddle checkout cookies

4.1 When you make a purchase, checkout is handled by Paddle, our payment provider and merchant of record, inside a Paddle-controlled checkout window. Paddle may set its own cookies within that checkout window to process your payment, prevent fraud, and calculate applicable tax.

4.2 These cookies are set and controlled by Paddle, not by us. Paddle's use of cookies and personal data is described in Paddle's own privacy policy: https://www.paddle.com/legal/privacy.

4.3 We do not receive or store your card details; only order and transaction identifiers are passed back to us once payment completes.

5. Managing storage through your browser

5.1 You can view, block, or delete localStorage data and cookies at any time through your browser settings:

Mozilla Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
Microsoft Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions

5.2 What happens if you clear or block this storage:

If you clear or block	Effect
The authentication session token	You will be signed out and will need to sign in again.
`ata.device-id`	Your browser will be treated as a new device the next time you sign in, which counts against the device limit on your licence.
`aerotech.locale`	The interface will revert to the default language until you choose a language again.
`aerotech.dictionary.favorites`	Your saved dictionary favourites on that device will be lost.

5.3 Private or incognito browser windows discard this storage when the window is closed, which means you will need to sign in again and your browser may be counted as a new device each time.

6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy if the storage we use changes. Any update that introduces a new, non-essential storage technology will be accompanied by a request for your consent before it is used, as described in section 3.4.
